Praesum Healthcare Joins The Commemoration Of World Mental Health Day 2023
PHILADELPHIA, PA-- October 10, 2023- This date is known across the planet as World Mental Health Day. Today, Praesum Healthcare, a multi-state network of mental health and substance use disorder treatment facilities, celebrates the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who support those in treatment for mental health disorders.
October 10th’s mental health commemorations are the result of a global advocacy and awareness program started by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992.
World Mental Health Day is one of the World Federation for Mental Health's most important and far‐reaching programs, with celebrations spanning every continent. Each year, a theme is chosen to encourage a positive direction and raise awareness for mental health issues.
The theme this year acknowledges that “mental health is a universal human right,” as set by the World Federation for Mental Health. “People can and do recover from mental health and substance use disorders,’" said Lynda Micheletti, MHA, CAP, Chief Operating Officer.
“There sometimes is a stigma in communities and even perhaps workplaces for individuals suffering from mental health disorders, which inhibits too many individuals from seeking the help that they may need. There is no need for anyone to go untreated, with so many services available,” continued Ms. Micheletti.
Praesum Healthcare recognizes and meets the growing need for quality mental health services in the United States
"Demand for evidence-based, high-quality mental health and substance-use treatment is driving the immediate need for additional services nationwide,” observed Mr. Scott Busby, Director of Client Services for Praesum Healthcare. “World Mental Health Day 2023 reminds us that every patient nationwide should have a chance to overcome mental health and substance use disorders through quality treatment centers and a network of comprehensive behavioral health services.”
“World Mental Health Day 2023 is an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme, to improve outcomes and knowledge, raise awareness, and drive actions that nurture everyone's mental health as a universal human right,” added Mr. Busby.
In this spirit, Praesum Healthcare delivers a full continuum of care to patients in six states (MA, NY, NJ, PA, GA & FL) within a network of outpatient clinics like The Counseling Center (TCC), which delivers established, evidence-based treatment for mental health disorders, including its renowned Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
This network was recently strengthened by one of Praesum’s boldest behavioral health initiatives, the September acquisition of Beacon Point Recovery Center, LLC, a behavioral health provider network based in Philadelphia, PA (Beacon Point).
